MR. TODD MCRAE
Mr. McRae is a class of 2000 graduate of Manchester High School. While attending Manchester High School from 1996-2000, he played varsity football and baseball. One of the most valued memories while attending Manchester High School was playing for legendary football coach Greg Oglesby and winning the 1997 State Football Championship in Class A.
After graduating from Manchester High School in 2000, Mr. McRae attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Gordon State College, and Georgia College & State University where he graduated with a BS in Biology. Upon graduation from college, Mr. McRae returned to Manchester High School in January of 2006 where he began his career in education as a science teacher, assistant football coach, and assistant baseball coach.
In the summer of 2009, Mr. McRae accepted a position to serve as assistant principal of Greenville Middle School. The following year he began his tenure at Mountain View Elementary as an assistant principal where he would later become principal in the winter of 2017.
Mr. McRae lives in Warm Springs, Ga and has been married to Jessica Ross McRae for the past 11 years. He has a 7-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter. Mr. McRae is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga.
DR. KELVIN SMITH
Dr. Kelvin Smith EdD is entering his nineteenth year in education and his third year as an assistant principal here at Manchester High School. Dr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Alabama A&M University, where he played and lettered in collegiate football. Dr. Smith also has an English Certification from Miles College, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Capella University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Educational Sports Management from Northcentral University. Dr. Smith taught and coached various sports for fifteen years between the states of Alabama and Georgia. He has been acknowledged for being one of two educators in each state’s history for being a head football coach and ELA teacher.
Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife (Antonia) have five children, Antwaan(11), Neveah (9), Kaydan (7), Kensley, and Kortney (twin 2-year-olds). Dr. Smith also enjoys exercising, writing, watching tv and reading. Dr. Smith is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
