Mr. Kalo Oglesby

Assistant Principal

Bio:

Kalo Oglesby holds a specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University while securing endorsements in Gifted, Reading, Teacher Support, and Coaching. He began his teaching career at Crawford County Elementary School as a fifth-grade Science and Social Studies teacher. Eventually transitioning to high school under the leadership of former Bibb County Principal Dexter L. Martin and now A. Bernard Young of Southwest High School and Law Academy, he has served in multiple roles climbing the ladder as an AP U.S. History Teacher, Lead Teacher, and most recently served as the Ninth Grade Academy Coordinator.
Oglesby was active in campus outreach during his time in college, chosen by his peers to serve as Mr. Fort Valley State University, and became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He also was named a WMAZ top teacher in 2017 while serving in Crawford County Elementary School. He sits on the Board of Directors for Macon-Bibb’s Georgia Civic Awareness Program for students intertwining his commitment to the community and service.
A 2012 graduate of First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, Ga, and is a proud father of four-year-old August L. Oglesby. He attends Fellowship Bible Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Ga, and is looking forward to returning to Meriwether County to serve as a Blue Devil.
